Terms & Conditions

These terms cover your firm’s use of CS Desk. CS Desk is software we host and run for you, reached in a browser at your firm’s own address - so these terms deal with your account, your subscription, and the data we hold on your firm’s behalf.

Last updated: 2 September 2026

Who these terms are between

CS Desk is provided by CS Desk (“we”, “us”). “You” means the firm that opens an account, and anyone your firm invites to use it - staff, clients, and referring professionals alike. By creating an account or using CS Desk, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use CS Desk.

Your account and your firm’s address

When you sign up, your firm gets its own address in the form yourfirm.csdesk.co.in, and the first account created becomes your firm’s owner. That owner can add colleagues, assign roles, and remove access. You are responsible for keeping login credentials confidential and for what is done under your firm’s accounts. Tell us promptly if you believe an account has been compromised.

Each account is for one named person. Sharing a single login between several people is not permitted, because it defeats the per-user access controls the product relies on.

What you may and may not do

A subscription grants your firm a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use CS Desk for your own practice for as long as the subscription is active. It does not permit you to resell it, run it as a service for other firms, or attempt to copy, decompile, or reverse-engineer it except where the law expressly allows that despite this restriction.

Plans, fees and billing

CS Desk has a Free plan and paid plans billed annually. Paid plan prices are quoted per month because that is how firms compare tools, but nothing is charged monthly: a paid plan is a single payment covering twelve months. Current plan prices and their limits are listed in our pricing section. All fees are in Indian Rupees and payments are collected through our payment provider; we never see or store your full card details.

A paid plan runs for twelve months from the date you pay for it, at the price then in effect. It does not renew automatically, and we do not keep a card on file - nothing is ever charged again without you actively choosing to buy another year. Buying again, whether the day after your current term ends or a few days before, starts a fresh twelve-month term from that payment date.

If your term runs out without a further payment, your firm simply moves down to the Free plan - nothing is charged, and nothing is deleted (see below).

When your paid plan ends, and what happens to your data

There is no subscription to cancel: a paid plan is a single payment for a fixed term, not a standing arrangement that charges you again on its own. If you do nothing, your firm moves to the Free plan automatically when the term ends - you are never charged without buying another year yourself. To keep a paid tier going without a gap, buy another year from Firm Settings → Billing any time before your current term runs out.

Moving to the Free plan does not delete anything. Every entity, director, filing, DSC record and task your firm entered stays exactly as it is, stays readable, and can still be exported - the Free plan’s limits only restrict adding beyond the free allowance. Refunds are set out in full on our Refund & Cancellation Policy page.

Closing the account altogether is a separate request, and one we act on when you make it. We keep a recoverable copy for seven days after a closure so it can be undone if it was asked for by mistake; after that it is permanent.

Your data stays yours

Everything your firm enters into CS Desk - entities, directors, filings, DSC custody records, tasks - belongs to your firm, not to us. We store it on our infrastructure so we can run the service for you, and we use it only for that purpose. We do not sell it, share it with third parties for their own purposes, or use it to train any model. Exporting your own data is part of the product on every plan, the Free plan included, and you can ask us to delete it at any time. How we handle it is described in our Privacy Policy.

Availability and backups

We take daily backups of the database that holds your firm’s data, and we work to keep CS Desk available. We do not, however, offer a guaranteed uptime level. Access may be interrupted for maintenance, upgrades, or reasons outside our control, and you should not treat CS Desk as your only record of a statutory deadline.

Acceptable use

You agree to use CS Desk lawfully, and not to use it to store or transmit anything unlawful, to disrupt the service for other firms, or to attempt unauthorised access to any part of our systems or to another firm’s data.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close an account that seriously breaches these terms - for example, an attempt to reach another firm’s data, or use of the service for something unlawful. Where the circumstances allow it, we will tell you first and give you a chance to put it right, and we will give you a reasonable opportunity to export your data before anything is removed.

Our intellectual property

CS Desk, its source code, design, and branding remain our property. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of the software to you - you are subscribing to use it, not buying the software itself.

Support and changes to the product

Email support is included on every plan, the Free plan included. Improvements and fixes reach every firm as we release them, with nothing for you to install. We may change or discontinue features as the product develops; where a change would remove something your firm actively relies on, we will give notice.

No warranties

CS Desk is provided on an “as is” basis. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will meet every requirement of your practice. CS Desk is a tool for tracking compliance work; it is not legal, secretarial, or professional advice, and it does not relieve your firm of responsibility for meeting statutory deadlines. Confirm anything consequential against the relevant statute and the MCA portal.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of business, or loss of data arising from your use of CS Desk - including any penalty, late fee, or professional consequence resulting from a missed filing or deadline. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the update will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date. Continuing to use CS Desk after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and any dispute arising from them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India.
